Out of the Round is a new class at Ruby's clay studio. This class will expand your vocabulary in clay, and literally take you out of the round, and into a world of alternative exciting ceramic possibilities.

You become a better potter every time you learn a new technique. Using the wheel as a starting place we will experiment with altering the round form. We will combine this with hand-built elements and explore various methods of cutting and construction.

We will be using hand building tools and various texture tools to enhance the surface of the forms we create.

Ruby's Clay Studio is my home base. Ruby, pictured above, opened the studio over 30 years ago. I teach classes in throwing and hand building. Classes run for 8 weeks, once a week.
